Oklahoma City University (OCU) is a prominent institution in the city’s collegiate sports landscape. As a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and the Sooner Athletic Conference, OCU sponsors 19 varsity sports programs, including basketball, baseball, soccer, rowing, wrestling, cross country, track and field, volleyball, competitive cheer, and pom teams. The university has a rich tradition of excellence, boasting 81 national titles and a streak of winning at least one national championship each year for the past 33 years. Notably, OCU’s softball team has claimed 11 national championships, and Coach Phil McSpadden became the all-time winningest softball coach in 2023, with nearly 1,900 wins.
High School Sports

Similarly, Del City High School has a storied history in basketball, with the boys’ team winning the 5A state championship in 1980 and securing titles in 2021 and 2023. The girls’ basketball team also achieved success, winning the 6A State Championship in 2009.
